The Impact of Standard in-Patients Exposure on Clinical Judgement among Undergraduate Nursing Students at SNC Lahore

Background: Clinical judgment skills development of nursing professional is essential and vital during clinical education. This quasi experimental study hasevaluated the impact standardizedIn-patient’s exposure on among under graduate students using observational measures. Method: A single group undergraduate was recruited with purposive sampling at College Nursing, Shalamar Hospital Lahore, Pakistan Tanner’s rubric model used. total 78 accomplished in five In-patients within 45 hours. Two Nursing Instructors were hired to evaluate outcome students; end each standardized in-patient session. The inter-rater reliability ranged 0.830 0.90 for Results: improved from first last patient compared pre post data judgement second, third, fourth fifth. debriefing method helpful improve their critical thinking. confessed that has not only uplifted experience but also strengthened thinking emergency situation ability notice, interpret, respond suitably. faculty highlighted valued newly learned knowledge commented preparation. Conclusion: Standardized In-patient potential support student judgement. No doubt, instructor enhanced professional’s intrinsic motivation presented a true picture, while learning complete assessment skills.A difference may exist between high fidelity simulator students, so further research can explore this phenomenology.
